Gin – 1 ounce
Sweet Vermouth – 1 ounce
Campari – 1 ounce
Orange peel for garnish
1.Pour ice into a shaker
2. Add Gin, Vermouth, and Campari
3. Stir (Don’t shake!)
4. Strain and pour over ice in a rock’s glass.
5. Squeeze juice from the orange over the top.
6. Add orange peel for garnish.
You can add another 1/2 ounce of gin, but I wouldn’t use more than that.
DO NOT SHAKE! With all due respect to Stanley Tucci, you should never shake a negroni. A negroni has great flavors, but when shaken together, you miss out on their balance. Shaking also dilutes a drink. So stir slowly.
Add champagne for a Sparkling Negroni.
