Over the past year, I have added collagen to my daily juice/smoothie routine. Some people like to drink a shake or juice before a workout, but I drink one after. I have found that at my age, protein shakes don’t sit well before a workout. So, post-workout or post-run drinks have become a regular part of my run recovery.
After I run, I open up a container of Naked Marine Collagen from Naked Nutrition. Marine collagen consists of type 1 collagen that supports skin, hair, and bones. Collagen also assists with muscle recovery and gut health and the digestive system. Marine collagen is also absorbed into the body easier than regular (bovine) collagen.
Because collagen strengthens skin, hair and nails, I wish I would have taken collagen a long time ago. Those are areas I’m currently trying to turn back the clock.
