(Read about our other visit to Madame Tussauds NY)
I corralled the kids, and we sauntered onto the subway, where we sat in silence. I even fell asleep for a few minutes. As we arrived at the Times Square subway station, the smells of the subway greeted our nostrils and woke us up a bit. We grabbed some coffee to help wake us up and tried to get out of our grumpiness. Once inside the air-conditioned Madame Tussaud, our grumpiness was gone and joy took over.
It is impossible to be grumpy inside Madame Tussauds. It’s a great place for joy seekers. I mean, how can you be in a bad mood when you’re wanting to take photos with all your favorite wax celebrities?
We took our time walking through the museum. We posed with our favorites and interacted with almost all the celebrities. We spent well over 2 hours walking around. Since new celebrities are always being added and taken away, there were plenty of new selfie opportunities. There was also ample amount of time for me to embarrass my kids.
By the time we left Madame Tussauds, we were in great moods. My kids and I were happy and loved our time together. There were moments during the museum that a kid would say, “Thanks, dad for bringing us.” And when I put my youngest daughter to bed at night, she said it again. It was a dad win day.
