Are you Team Tom or Team Jerry? I’ve always been on Team Tom. Even though I’ve always been an instigator like Jerry, it would be nice to see Tom get his paws on the mouse. Throughout Tom and Jerry’s rivalry, Jerry causes a raucous and the dutiful cat tries to stop chaos from happening. You’ve seen the show. Jerry gets off easily, while Tom gets in trouble. We could all use fewer Jerries in our lives and a little more Toms.
The new Tom and Jerry movie is out now on Blu-ray, DVD, and on digital. You can probably guess what happens. Jerry continues being a punk and Tom just wants to chill. The movie takes place in a swanky New York City hotel, which is a perfect battlefield for the warring adversaries.
The movie is live-action, except for the animals and stars Chloe Grace Moretz and Michael Pena. I love Pena and will watch anything he is in. Both stars bring their comedy chops to the film and do their best to add to Tom and Jerry’s rivalry.
Tom and Jerry is a cute movie and younger kids will have fun watching the two battle it out. Hanna Barbera would be proud.
