My wife and I sat at the Kia dealership awkwardly trying to negotiate a price. We were searching for a new vehicle that could cart around our growing family of 5. The backseat of our car barely accommodated three car seats and we desperately needed something less cramped. After test driving a few cars at multiple dealerships, we decided on a Kia Sorento. Our love for the Sorento immediately bloomed as soon as we opened up the engine on the highway during the test drive.
After purchasing our Sorento, we couldn’t wait to show it off. We drove to my mother’s house and picked her and my step-dad up for a drive around town. We took the kids and parents (the car seats 7!) to an ice-cream parlor and licked dripping cones as we stared at our new vehicle. We were so proud of our car. 5 years later, I still love our Sorento. In the last 5 years, our Kia has safely driven us to countless soccer practice and games, date nights, movies, Costco runs, road trips, ski trips, camping trips, and has brought one beautiful baby girl home to us. Right now, outside of the window, the Sorento sits ready for me to load her up with soccer equipment and kids for another soccer game. She isn’t just a car, but a part of our family.
Choosing the right car is one of the most important decisions you can make. Many of us know that one person who made the wrong choice and regretted it for years. Thankfully, we made the right choice with our Kia Sorento. The price was right, the size is perfect (big enough for our family of 6 and a friend, but small enough to parallel park in New York City), and it performs well on gas mileage for a vehicle of its size.
Given my personal experience with and love of my own Kia, it made perfect sense for me to partner with Kia this year. As I celebrate 5 years of owning a Kia, I am still thrilled with the commitment my family made in becoming part of the Kia family and I’m looking forward to five more years of Kia ownership.
