Shoes 1888: By Vincent van Gogh

Old and worn.

Ready to be tossed away.

Painted beautifully on canvass.

Shoes 1888 by Vincent van Gogh can be found in Gallery 822 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I’m fascinated every time I look at the painting. What most artists would have seen as uninspiring, van Gogh saw as layered beauty.
