Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N at Discovery Times Square is for fans of all ages

My son: “There’s Captain America’s Shield!”
Me: “Look, Lo Ki’s helmet! And Staff!”
My son: “Captain America’s costume!”
Me: “Hawkeye’s bow!”
Together: “Iron Man’s armor!”

My 9 year old son and I ran from exhibit to exhibit like two children who were just told that the greatest thing they’ll ever see is right around the corner. And great things were around every corner of the Avengers exhibit at the Discovery Center in Times Square. We gripped each other’s hands as we passed the displays and the experiments. We stood patiently in lines as we waited to try out the equipment and we milked every second of our opportunity to do so.

If you are a comic book fan and loved the Marvel Avengers movies, then you must see The Avengers exhibit at The Discovery Center in Times Square. I hardly ever say someone “must” see something, but like I said, if you are a comic book fan, you must see this exhibit. I could go back to the museum every day for the rest of the run, I loved it so much.

The exhibit is much more than just costumes and weapons from the movies; it also explores the science behind the superheroes. It explains how Captain America was able to morph from a scrawny man into the ultimate soldier. In Dr. Banner’s lab, you see how a scientist became a monster. And with a display that will make you feel like you are standing in Tony Stark’s laboratory, you’ll discover the brains behind Iron Man’s armor.

There are also games using the superheroes’ equipment, and you can keep track of your success by sliding a card at each station. We would have gone just to see the movie memorabilia, but the games pushed our level of excitement through the roof.

If you have an Avenger inside of you or are raising an Avenger fan, don’t miss this exhibit (can you sense my level of enthusiasm?). The displays at the Discovery Center are temporary, so don’t let the Avengers leave before you understand what makes them tick.
