“Daddy, I need to run.”
My daughter said the above statement as we drove down the road. She didn’t say, “I want to run” or “Can I run?” She said, “I NEED to run.” Knowing what that feels like, I guided the car next to a cove and let her run wild and free…
Foreshadowing.
Makes me think of “Chariots of Fire.”
I wish I felt the need to run! I haven’t run since I got out of the military =)
One foot in front of the other.
One of my fondest memories is bursting out the screen door, down the wooden steps, seeing my dog waiting for me and running, running, running in the yard with a cool breeze in my face – freedom! I was 4 years old. I know how your daughter feels!
