Visiting Ripley’s Believe It Or Not in Times Square

Growing up as a kid, I loved reading books and looking at pictures that showed the extremes of human behavior and life. If someone grew nails so far that they curled around their hands, I had to see a picture. Ditto for pictures of the tallest and shortest men alive,

It hard is to enter Ripley’s Believe It or Not in Times Square without Jack Palance’s voice echoing in your mind. At least for me, it was. In the 80’s, Ripley’s Believe It or Not was a TV show with Jack Palance as the host. Each episode covered, well, something hard to believe.

I brought 3 of my kiddos to visit the museum and we had a great time. The highlights for us were comparing body size with the world’s tallest man, checking out clothing from the world’s tallest woman, my daughter half appearing, a model of a nautical war, and the many animal oddities.

The museum took us about an hour to get through, but we could have spent another 30 minutes to an hour exploring if not for my 2-year-old attempts at dismantling all of Times Square.

If you are planning on visiting Times Square and have two hours to kill, you will find Ripley’s entertaining. The museum is open 365 days a year and late. The nighttime crowd probably has as much fun as the kids during the daytime.

Kids under 4 are free, and prices per ticket are around $19.00. Click here to purchase online. I have also found cheaper tickets at Groupon.
