Air Hogs Elite Helix X4: Toy Review

As I said before in a Flutterbye post, I have low expectations when it comes to flying toys. My expectations are even lower for flying toys that have a hard foam-like material. Every flying toy that I have ever owned that is made up of that type of material has come to a tragic end. Often times the toy crashes because I do not have the patience to master the aerial toy. With the Elite Helix X4, there are two switches; one for an advanced pilot and one for the beginner. The beginner switch compensates for people like me and allows a novice to learn how to direct the Air Hog without too many crashes.

Shockingly for me, this toy can take a beating. There are not many thin parts that can break off and the rotors are protected from impact. As an added bonus, the toy can fly quite a distance away from the controls.

Pros: The toy’s design makes for durable and frequent impacts.

Cons: As with other similar toys, the charge does not last long, plus it takes a while to fully charge.

Age Suggestion: 12 and up. (I strongly encourage this age due to the price of the toy and the fact that no toy can withstand an infinite number of crashes.)
