Destiny 2: Is It Appropriate For Kids?

*Disclaimer: I received the Destiny 2 Collector’s Edition in exchange for a review. The comments and story are my own.

Destiny 2 is once again the need to have game for gamers. Aliens are back and Earth needs Guardians to protect the last city. Besides protecting the last inhabited city, Guardians venture to other planets and take out the alien invaders.

I did not play much of the first Destiny, but my oldest son and his friends loved the game. Destiny’s follow-up surpassed the praise of the first one. My son explained Destiny 2 one afternoon and two hours later, he was still asking for the control back.

If you are thinking about buying the game for your kids, here are things to know:

  • Violence: It is a first-person shooter game, so a lot of guns and weapons are involved. There are countless moments where gunplay is needed, but I did not see blood during the game.
  • Language: I did not hear any swearing during gameplay.
  • Sex: None.

My son is 13-years-old, but I would have let him play this game when he was 12. My 5-year-old is scared of the aliens, and so my oldest son can’t play the game with my 5-year-old in the room.

One final note:

You can play soccer with your online friends! That’s right, you can take a break from the aliens and play a pick-up soccer game in the middle of a field.

If you have a Destiny 2 fan in your house, I suggest purchasing the Destiny 2 Collector’s Edition.
