“Man of Steel” Action Figures: Toy Review

“Man of Steel” Basic Figures Action Figures

What would a Superhero movie be without action figures?  When I was a kid, I loved reenacting the scenes from the movies with my Superman toys. My imagination also took me beyond the movies, as I created my own stories and took the characters in new directions.

Superman action figureMattel has a new product line in connection with the new Superman movie Man of Steel and the new basic action figures are some of the best to come out in a long time. The new Basic Figures show an amazing likeness to their on screen counterparts and come in a wide variety of designs, clothes, armor, and weaponry. They come in the standard action figure size of 3.75 inches.

As soon as he received the toys from Mattel, my son tore into them. It wasn’t long before his room had been turned into a giant battlefield with toys scattered all around. And my own heart was made glad to that Superman was still standing tall. Watching my kids play with these Superman toys brought me back to a time when I did the same. These action figures will make a lot of children happy… and some grown-ups too.

Pros: They’re Superman action figures! Shouldn’t that be enough? Another great thing about these action figures is that they are more durable than a lot of other action figures in the past. The limbs move easily and are difficult to pull a part.

Cons: There are a lot of different variations to Superman’s attire. I haven’t been able to see the movie yet, but I can’t help but wonder why he would need so many clothes. He’s Superman, he should only have one set!

*The company provided a sample of the product for my review, but I was not compensated and the opinions are my own.
